Bath. Beach. Bella.

Add ethical elegance to your bath time experience with our cotton Turkish peshtemal bath sheets. Available in a range of sumptuous colors and patterns, these towels will turn their surroundings in your home from drab to fab. With their roots in 18th-century Turkey, the peshtemal or hammam is a cultural staple throughout the Mediterranean that is commonly used in Turkish public baths and prized for its stunning craftsmanship and versatility.

But the real reason they’re our bath towel of choice is down to the way they’re flat woven from long cotton fibres, which makes the yarn soft and durable. As a result, they’re thinner than regular towels but even more absorbent. This lightweight design allows them to air dry quickly and pack efficiently, ensuring they’re as nimble at the beach or as travel towels as they are in your home. With their luxe colors and patterns, our peshtemals can also double as shawls or scarves.

While we’re guaranteed you’ll fall head over heels in love with your new Turkish cotton towel, it will take a little getting used to. Wash your new towel a couple of times before use to open up the cotton fibres, which will make it the soft and absorbent towel of your dreams. Even better, because of their luxurious cotton, Turkish towels will actually become softer and fluffier with each wash. Magic!

Each towel measures 37 x 69 inches and weighs 11 ounces a piece.

I heard that your Turkish peshtemal towels are good for the environment and good for me. Is that right?

We source our peshtemals from a family-owned factory in Denizli in Turkey, where they’re machine loomed for a consistently high-quality finish — and consistent satisfaction from you.

We’re concerned about what goes into the manufacturing process and our bodies, so only cotton certified according to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is used in these towels. This industry-leading credential is only given to textiles that have been tested and proven free of chemicals that could be harmful to your health — so there’s no worrying about what’s inside.

But our commitment to you doesn’t stop there: you can also rely on us to be environmentally low-impact, too. We offset all of our carbon emissions through our work with Climate Neutral and are committed members of 1% of the Planet and One Tree Planted, two organizations that help us — thanks to your purchases — to give back to the Earth. • Kyrgies Sizing

The sizing on our product pages is a translation of the European sizing that is stamped on the bottom of our slippers.

If you think you are in between sizes, we suggest selecting the larger size.

    Other Products

Please see individual product pages for sizing information.

  • We ship each pair of Kyrgies individually in an envelope partially made of recycled materials.

Orders are typically shipped one business day after the order has been placed. From time to time, we may get backed up a day or two. Please note that all of our orders are packed and sent by real people in a small warehouse in Northern Virginia.

  • Your satisfaction is our number one concern. If you are unhappy with your Kyrgies, please let us know.

    US Customers

The simplest and easiest way to conduct a return or exchange is to visit https://kyrgies.returnly.com/.

We are happy to exchange you unworn slippers for a different size or color. If you would simply like to return your unworn slippers for a refund, this is the place for that as well. Please note that it is out store policy to only exchange or refund products that were purchases within 60 days of the return.

IF YOUR ITEM IS DEFECTIVE: Please email us at hello@kyrgies.com with your issue.

    Canadian Customers

Please email us at hello@kyrgies.com with any questions about returns and exchanges. Unfortunately, we cannot pay for your exchange shipping. You will have to send us the Kyrgies in unused condition for a refund and order another pair in the size you'd prefer.

  • Washing your Kyrgies slippers

Kyrgies do not like to get wet. Like wool sweaters, they will shrink and become misshapen. The magic of wool felt is that it wicks moisture and shouldn't ever smell. If you do spill motor oil or bacon grease all over your Kyrgies, you can save them by getting them dry cleaned.

Just do not wash Kyrgies with water. It will change your Kyrgies and they will be rendered unwearable.

    Washing Peshtemals

Wash your peshtemals in cold or medium warm water, on a gentle cycle, with similar colors. Don't use bleach or fabric softener. Dry on low to medium heat.

Sara Krauss

Beautiful and so soft.

Kathleen Thome

They are beautiful! We have learned to really like these as bath towels. Although they are very different from terry cloth. It helps to keep them folded in half so that you’re drying with a double layer

Love it, so soft, looks great!

I love this peshtemal, it's soft, looks lovely, and is absorbent. Great for summer.

These are so great

I have not used these as towels. We currently use them as a lightweight blanket. I had to buy more because my daughter wouldn't give up the 1st one I bought.
