Kyrgies Wides: Wool slippers with a thick vegetable tanned leather suede sole.

Kyrgies Wides are built on a wider mold with less orthopedic shape to them. We recommend this model for those of you that have wider feet, or simply prefer a wider fit.

Kyrgies house shoes are handmade in Kyrgyzstan by artisans using felting techniques that are, literally, centuries old. By wearing Kyrgies, you are embracing an old tradition of felted wool that was originally developed on the steppes of Central Asia but spread around the Western World via the infamous Silk Road. While our modern lives have brought us many conveniences, some things simply can't be improved upon. Wool felted shoes are one of those things. The leather soles are durable and provide excellent grip. Leather soles are a style that have a natural feel and have stood the test of time.

Are these house shoes as sustainable as the rest of the Kyrgies range

We’re proud to say they are! As a company, we’re concerned about what goes into the manufacturing processes of our house shoes and, as a result, onto our bodies. Our leather soled products use vegetable tanned leather soles rather than the highly toxic chromium normally employed in the tanning process. Our rubber soled products use natural latex that has been vulcanized to increase durability.

Our commitment to low-impact and socially-responsible fashion doesn’t end there, though. All of our wool is sourced from small, family-owned flocks, while our factory in Kyrgyzstan pays fair wages to all its staff. We also work closely with a range of nonprofits and environmental movements to ensure our net impact is positive. Find out more about our commitment to sustainability here.

Kyrgies Sizing

The sizing on our product pages is a translation of the European sizing that is stamped on the bottom of our slippers.

As with all handmade products, sizing can vary from slipper to slipper, despite the careful work of our artisans in Kyrgyzstan. To avoid disappointment, if you're between sizes, we recommend choosing the larger shoe.

For more sizing details, please refer to this sizing guide.

If you do find that your slipper doesn't fit perfectly, our returns policy means you can quickly and easily swap for the size you need.

Our leather or felt-soled products are designed primarily for indoor comfort. While they can be worn outside, they are not intended for outdoor conditions.

For those who prefer outdoor use, our rubber-soled slippers are a suitable option. They're capable of outdoor wear but are not as robust as heavy-duty outdoor footwear. We recommend avoiding heavy rain or puddles with these as well.

Our slippers are crafted from wool felt, a material that is sensitive to water. Wool felt can lose its shape when wet, so machine washing is strongly discouraged. To keep your Kyrgies in top condition, we advise spot cleaning with a damp cloth and lukewarm water, followed by air drying. Dry cleaning is also a viable care option.

Sometimes I wonder why I wait so long.

I love them! they got a little bit looser after putting them on with socks but at least Im not tripping down the stairs with them and I cant just kick them off so all good. I feel good knowing im wearing something that is sustainable and of great quality. They are comfortable and keep my feet warm without getting them sweaty.

Save yourself the time and money and order some generic ones from Amazon for half the price. These didn’t fit, even tho I measured how they instructed me to, and are super uncomfortable. I even purchased the extra insert. Those did fit perfectly inside. Disappointed the sizing is wrong and returning/exchange you have to wait weeks to get your money back.

I didn't think I'd love these as much as I do.

I needed some new house shoes and thought I’d give them a try. The construction, material quality, and comfort are so much better than any other slipper I’ve ever owned. There’s no turning back. I’m a Kyrgies guy now.

OK, but not exactly the same as my first pair

I was hoping for a clone of the slippers that I have been wearing for the past few years. This new pair is ever so slightly snugger, and the backs are lower, so not as secure on my feet. I do love the wool, so warm & not itchy at all.
Thanks for being there & making slippers from this age-old technique.
Keep up the good work.

Satisfyingly snuggly and sufficiently efficient

These slippers arrived within 7-10 days. I love that these are of substantial, thick, weighted quality. These were never in stock in my size on Earth Hero, so I decided to buy from the source - Kyrgies! I love that Kyrgies is a trusted sustainable brand. I plan on using my indoor slippers for years on end. Thank you Kyrgies.
