Do Kyrgies Fit True to Size?

Kyrgies come in European sizes. We have created conversions to US sizing based on extensive feedback from our customers over the years. Generally speaking, we suggest you follow our conversion. If you are in between sizes, we suggest that you order up. If you have a low volume foot, adding a pair of insoles to your order is a good way to get the correct length and without the slipper feeling too wide and roomy.

Are Kyrgies "barefoot style"?

Kyrgies does offer barefoot style slippers with a zero drop between the heal and the toe. These styles include: Classics, Wovens, and All Naturals. All other styles have an extra piece of felt in the heal that is 4mm wide. While not quite "barefoot" a 4mm drop between the heal and toe is still considered "low drop."

I have narrow feet. Which Kyrgies will fit me best?

Our Molded Sole and Classic styles are our narrowest styles because they are built on a narrow mold.


We also suggest adding an insole to your order. Insoles do a great job of filling up the excess volume in the shoe. They also add more cushion to your steps.

I have wide feet. Which Kyrgies will work for me?

For feet EEE width or over, check out our All Natural Kyrgies. Built on a wider and flatter mold, they are roomier than any of our other other styles, and can easily accommodate an orthotic insole.


Wearing & Maintaining your Kyrgies

Can I wear my Kyrgies outside?

Our traditional models are meant for indoor use. Occasionally stepping outside in your leather sole Kyrgies won't ruin them, but it's not what they made for.


Our Nomad and Walkabout styles for men, women, and children have a rubberized soles that created specifically for outdoor wear.  These soles are durable and can be worn outside extensively. We still don't recommend getting your wool felt uppers very wet. 

Can I throw my Kyrgies in the wash?

We don’t recommend it. All Kyrgies are made from felted wool and can easily shrink or lose their shape in the washing machine. It can also cause the leather soles on certain styles to bleed. If your Kyrgies are looking a little dirty, try spot cleaning with a dry brush, or if necessary, a gentle wool-friendly detergent and a damp cloth.


Dry cleaning is also an option.


Materials

Our felted wool

All Kyrgies styles are made from warm, durable felted wool sourced from small family farms in Kyrgyzstan, where sheep herding is an important cultural tradition. The wool is then felted in a generations-old process at our partner factory in Kyrgyztan’s capital, Bishkek. Our vegetable-tanned leather

Our All Naturals collection uses vegetable-tanned leather from Kyrgyzstan. To avoid the toxic chromium used in tanning conventional leather goods, our artisans use gentle extracts derived from quebracho and mimosa trees. 

Our Dyes

To achieve the vibrant colors of many of our Kyrgies styles, we rely on low-impact acid dyes that do not contain toxic chemicals or mordants (which fix the dye to the fabric), require less rinsing and have a high absorption rate in the fabric.

Shipping and Fulfillment

Where do you ship from?

Kyrgies ships every order from our own warehouse in Virginia. Please note, that we operate during normal business hours and that your order is picked and packed by and actual person. From time to time, we may get backed up a day or two. 

How long does it take to get an order in the mail?

Orders are typically shipped one business day after the order has been placed.

Tell me about your packaging.
Minimal packaging is near and dear to the Kyrgies sustainable ethos. Kyrgies are not shipped in a cardboard box.We ship each pair of Kyrgies individually in an envelope partially made of recycled materials.

Single pairs usually ship in a paper envelope that is made of 50% recycled content with a varying amount of PCW/PCR waste. These are 100% recyclable.

Multiple pairs often ship in a poly mailer that is made of 100% recycled content and is 100% recyclable.
Do you ship internationally?

We are only shipping to Canada at the moment.  However, we do have stockists in several countries that you can order from, please see below.

Customer Service

What is the best way to contact you?

Shoot us an email at hello@kyrgies.com. Please note that we are based on the east coast and respond to emails during normal business hours. If you contact us on the weekend, we likely won't respond until Monday.

What is your returns policy?

Your satisfaction is our number one concern. If you are unhappy with your Kyrgies, please let us know. Our return policy lasts 60 days. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Our main customer service email account is hello@kyrgies.com. Please note that this email account is managed by a real person that works normal business hours. If you send an email on Friday afternoon or over the weekend, expect a response on Monday.


Initiating Returns within the United States:


Exchanges and refunds: If you have an issue with your size, style or color and would like to initiate an exchange, please visit our Returns Portal. From there you can download a shipping label and start to process your exchange or refund.


Refunds: Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment.


Late or missing refunds: If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at hello@kyrgies.com.


If the Returnly portal does not work for you, email us at hello@kyrgies.com and we will email you a shipping label.
