The barefoot idea
Most of the day, our shoes decide for us.
Where feet bend, how much space toes get, how the sole meets the ground — conventional shoes make those calls. Barefoot design hands the decisions back: let toes spread for balance, arches flex, and the small muscles of the foot join in — while a natural layer still protects you from cold, damp, or dirty floors.
A flat, level profile
A flat heel-to-toe stance — the Wides use a true zero-drop mold — so you stand the way you would with nothing on at all, grounded and even.
A thin, flexible sole
Less structure telling your feet what to do, and more freedom to move. A pliable sole lets the foot roll and respond, closer to the feeling of going barefoot.

The craft
Felted by hand, in a women-led studio in Bishkek.
Each pair is shaped by artisans in Kyrgyzstan who keep an ancient felting tradition alive. The wool is Kyrgyz semi-rough heritage sheep wool — short fibers that make a dense, durable felt, from small family-run farms.
Wool has clothed the Asian steppe for centuries because it works: warm in winter, breathable in summer, and naturally moisture-wicking. It doesn’t fray or pill, and it gently molds to your foot with wear.

What are they made of?
All-natural wool felt made from Kyrgyz heritage sheep wool, water and vegetable-based soap — no synthetic additives. The Wides add a vegetable-tanned, chrome-free leather suede sole. Everything is Oeko-Tex certified and fully biodegradable.
How should they fit if I’m between sizes?
Order up. Wool felt has a little give and molds to your foot with wear, so sizing up keeps the roomy, barefoot feel. The Wides also fit orthotic insoles if you use them.
Are they warm — or too warm?
