Yes — that is exactly what Walkabouts are for. The rubberized soles are created specifically for outdoor wear, are durable, and can be worn outside extensively, even in cold, snowy conditions. Keep the wool felt uppers away from heavy rain and puddles; wool absorbs water and loses its coziness when soaked.
What size should I order?
Walkabouts run unisex from US Women's 5 through Men's 15.5, with conversions built from years of customer feedback. If you are between sizes, order up — and many people prefer to go one full size up to accommodate thick socks and pull them on more easily. Our returns policy makes size swaps quick and easy.
Are they hard to get on?
The fit starts snug and the pliable wool felt molds to your feet with wear for a personalized fit. Ordering one size up makes them easier to pull on and leaves room for thick socks.
What is vulcanization?
A process that makes rubber more durable. We took the same design as our Tengries house shoes and added a vulcanized crepe-style sole so you can step outside and wear them on outdoor adventures.
How do I clean them?
Spot clean with a damp cloth and lukewarm water, then air dry. Dry cleaning also works. Skip the washing machine — felted wool can shrink or lose its shape.
