Kyrgies Outdoor Slides with Natural Rubber Soles

Introducing our newest addition to the Kyrgies family - the Kyrgies Slides with natural crepe rubber soles! Made from the same all-natural wool sourced from small, family-owned flocks and lovingly handmade by our artisans in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, these wool slippers now come with a durable and eco-friendly natural crepe rubber sole.

Not only are they sustainable and natural, but they're also comfortable and lightweight, making them the perfect slip-on shoe for any occasion. Part of a felting tradition dating back thousands of years, the Kyrgies Slides are a must-have for anyone who values ethical, sustainable fashion.

At Kyrgies, we're committed to low-impact and socially-responsible fashion. All of our wool is sourced from small, family-owned flocks, and our factory in Kyrgyzstan pays fair wages to all its staff. We also work closely with a range of nonprofits and environmental movements to ensure our net impact is positive. Our wool slippers are chemical-free and use natural crepe rubber soles, making them non-toxic and eco-friendly.

So why settle for uncomfortable and unsustainable footwear when you can have the best of both worlds? Try on a pair of Kyrgies Slides today and experience the comfort, sustainability, and style you deserve.

Product Care

Our leather or felt-soled products are designed primarily for indoor comfort. While they can be worn outside, they are not intended for outdoor conditions.

For those who prefer outdoor use, our rubber-soled slippers are a suitable option. They're capable of outdoor wear but are not as robust as heavy-duty outdoor footwear. We recommend avoiding heavy rain or puddles with these as well.

Our slippers are crafted from wool felt, a material that is sensitive to water. Wool felt can lose its shape when wet, so machine washing is strongly discouraged. To keep your Kyrgies in top condition, we advise spot cleaning with a damp cloth and lukewarm water, followed by air drying. Dry cleaning is also a viable care option.

Sustainability & Craftsmanship

Are these house shoes as sustainable as the rest of the Kyrgies range

We’re proud to say they are! As a company, we’re concerned about what goes into the manufacturing processes of our house shoes and, as a result, onto our bodies. Our leather soled products use vegetable tanned leather soles rather than the highly toxic chromium normally employed in the tanning process. Our rubber soled products use natural latex that has been vulcanized to increase durability.

Our commitment to low-impact and socially-responsible fashion doesn’t end there, though. All of our wool is sourced from small, family-owned flocks, while our factory in Kyrgyzstan pays fair wages to all its staff. We also work closely with a range of nonprofits and environmental movements to ensure our net impact is positive. Find out more about our commitment to sustainability here.

FAQ

Does Kyrgies fit true to size?

Kyrgies come in European sizes. We have created conversions to US sizing based on extensive feedback from our customers over the years. Generally speaking, we suggest you follow our conversion. If you are in between sizes, we suggest that you order up.

If you have a low volume foot, adding a pair of insoles to your order is a good way to get the correct length and without the slipper feeling too wide and roomy. For detailed information about sizing, please refer to our sizing guide on this page

If you do find that your slipper doesn't fit perfectly, our returns policy means you can quickly and easily swap for the size you need.

Can I throw my Kyrgies in the wash?

We don’t recommend it. All Kyrgies are made from felted wool and can easily shrink or lose their shape in the washing machine. It can also cause the leather soles on certain styles to bleed. If your Kyrgies are looking a little dirty, try spot cleaning with a dry brush, or if necessary, a gentle wool-friendly detergent and a damp cloth. Dry cleaning is also an option.

If the worst happens and you have an accident with bacon grease or similar (yup, we've all done it), a trip to your local dry cleaners should return your shoes to new.

Can I wear my Kyrgies outside?

Unfortunately, any showcasing of your brand new slippers should take place inside the home. Kyrgies are designed to face the Great Indoors; wearing them out on the drive, pottering around the garage or roaming around the garden will only lead to misshapen wool felt for your shoes and bitter disappointment for you. Seriously, keep them indoors.

Our Tengries Walkabouts for men and women have rubberized soles that are created specifically for outdoor wear. These soles are durable and can be worn outside extensively. They can even be worn in cold snowy conditions. We still don't recommend getting your wool felt uppers very wet. They will absorb water and slush and won't be very cozy at that point.

Bringing the Ancient Power of Wool Felt to Your Home

We create products for people that care about where their clothing comes from. People that also consider their homes to be a special place and look forward to the ritual of arriving home, taking off outdoor shoes, and embracing their Kyrgies.

Disappointed Customer
I'd recommend not buying these.

I bought these and a pair of the indoor slides at the same time. I love the indoor slides and wear them all the time. When I switched to wearing my outdoor slides indoors to start the process of them forming to my foot I noticed a difference right away. The felt underfoot was loose compared to the indoor slides. I thought it would maybe naturally felt itself a tighter with use but that wasn't the case. It's gotten looser with wear and bunches up between my toes and the ball of my foot. I'm glad I have the indoor slides to compare to so I know that this isn't normal. I've worn the indoor pair probably of 20 times longer than the outdoor pair and have had no problems with them.

Customer support responses to my inquiry could basically be summarized as, "it shouldn't do that" and then stopped responding to my emails. No offer to replace, refund, or anything else. Just basically a, "sucks to be you" kind of situation.

I was planning on buying more based on my experience with the indoor slides, and was going to recommend to family and friends, but there's a major QC issue with this company and they don't have any interest in making it right when they send out a bad product. I get that they can't repackaged and sell footwear that's been worn, but how should I be expected to know that this pair was garbage before using it?

I've included a photo showing the felt bunching up underfoot.

Bottom line is, I recommend against these slides and against buying from Kyrgies in general. Congrats if you lucked into a good pair!

My charcoal slides were good for 2-3 months, then started falling apart. I did wear them outside some (walks to garbage can or to get our mail), but not a lot, and that is what they are supposed to do. Probably won’t buy again. I’ve had UGG or LL Bean slippers last for 6-8 years under similar conditions.

Easy on/off, warm, good looking and love that I can run outside without changing into shoes

These are my favorite slippers. They're warm, are easy on/off, and I can go outside, even running to the grocery store. And they look great in jeans.

Best slippers ever!

These are my first pair of of Kyries and I LOVE them! I've had many other slippers before that were not comfortable. These slippers are so comfortable, my feet don't overheat or hurt from walking around in them all day. These will make great gifts for anyone.
