Tengries are handcrafted in Kyrgyzstan using chemical-free wool and vegetable-tanned leather. The wool comes from small, family-owned flocks; the leather soles are tanned with vegetables instead of the highly toxic chromium normally used in the process.
The result is a sustainable, everyday house shoe with a unique and timeless style — supportive, snug, and built to be worn daily.

What size should I order?
Tengries run US Women’s 5 through Men’s 15.5. If you are between sizes, order up — many people also size up to fit thick socks and pull them on more easily. If the fit is off, Kyrgies’ returns policy makes it quick to swap sizes.
Can I wear Tengries outside?
Tengries are designed for the Great Indoors. For a pair built to step outside, the Tengries Walkabouts add a rubberized outdoor sole to the same wool upper.
How do I clean them?
Spot clean with a damp cloth and lukewarm water, then air dry. Wool felt can lose its shape when wet, so skip the washing machine. Dry cleaning also works.
What makes them sustainable?
The wool is chemical-free and sourced from small, family-owned flocks, the leather soles are vegetable-tanned rather than chromium-tanned, and the factory in Kyrgyzstan pays fair wages to all its staff.
