To ensure our commitment to zero waste, we produce each item to order. This approach addresses the significant issue of overproduction in the fashion industry, where a substantial portion of manufactured clothing remains unsold, leading to environmental harm. By aligning production with actual demand, we eliminate unnecessary waste and avoid the creation of garments that might otherwise go unused. While this means you'll need to wait a bit longer for your order, rest assured that each piece is crafted specifically for you and is well worth the wait.

Product Care

To maintain the longevity of your Zero Waste Kimono:

  • Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle
  • Use mild detergent and avoid fabric softeners
  • Lay flat to dry or tumble dry low
  • Iron on low if needed
  • Store in a cool, dry place

By following these care instructions, you help preserve the fabric’s natural softness while reducing environmental impact.

Sustainability & Craftsmanship

Each Zero Waste Kimono is a testament to expert craftsmanship and our unwavering commitment to sustainability. Designed with precision, our innovative zero-waste pattern ensures that every inch of fabric is utilized, eliminating excess and significantly reducing textile waste. This meticulous approach not only honors traditional garment-making techniques but also embraces modern advancements in sustainable design. By producing our kimonos domestically in the USA, we uphold high ethical standards, ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions, and a reduced carbon footprint.

Our choice of materials reflects our dedication to both quality and environmental responsibility. Each kimono is crafted from 100% Tencel® Lyocell, a luxuriously soft and breathable fiber derived from sustainably sourced wood pulp. This biodegradable material offers a silky smooth feel while requiring significantly less water and energy to produce than conventional fabrics. Designed to last, our kimonos provide both durability and timeless style, encouraging slow fashion practices that counteract the disposable nature of the modern clothing industry.

Beyond our innovative design and responsible material sourcing, we take sustainability a step further by partnering with FABSCRAP to recycle any fabric remnants from future projects. This ensures that even as we grow, our commitment to minimizing waste remains steadfast. Additionally, our Upcycled Capsule Collection transforms returned and unsellable garments into entirely new designs, reinforcing our dedication to circular fashion. By choosing the Zero Waste Kimono you’re supporting a movement toward a more ethical, sustainable, and waste-free future.
